I am a color-fed person and textiles often speak to me through their brilliance of color, as well as their drape and fluid motion. I am constantly challenged to seek a way to “soften” a hard world--either by designing a piece of art that is “soft” to look at, a piece of wear-able art to “soften” a wardrobe, or a piece of textile art to “soften” a furnished room. My work is as diverse as the plant life and foliage I use as my inspiration. Using nature's rich palette, I create imagery of botanicals on silk fabric. The design is painted on white silk with water based textile paints, and heat set for permanence. The silk art pieces are as unique as their designer and their future owner. The scarves feature hand rolled edges, the ease of being hand washable,  are hand numbered and signed by the artist. Wearing a hand painted scarf is like wearing an original piece of art which serves as your own creative wardrobe expression.  And, if you are not wearing it, it makes a wonderful statement for as a table runner, window dressing, or just an art accessory for your home.
